Parc Malagnou
Come and discover the Museum, on the garden side! Like a shimmering butterfly in the heart of the city, the Parc Malagnou has undergone a veritable metamorphosis to give pride of place to local wildlife – both plant and animal. Alongside the grassy recreational areas, more natural meadows are now waiting for you to dive into the local biodiversity. Created by the Green Spaces Service of the City of Geneva and specialists in fauna and flora, this space is a haven for urban nature. Information panels, native prairies and shrubs, roosts and nest boxes – each action celebrates an animal species that is an ambassador for a development or plantation that promotes its growth.
The project was initiated by the Museum of Natural History of the City of Geneva, which has studied and protected biodiversity in Geneva for 200 years. It informs and raises awareness, conducts scientific research, and tests new approaches to biodiversity in Geneva at full scale.
The redevelopment was supported by the G'Innove societal innovation program, initiated by the City of Geneva's Agenda 21.
