Caroline Bachmann - born in Lausanne in 1963 - lives and works between Cully and Berlin. Her figurative oil paintings are characterised by a synthetic pictorial language that develops in a very slow studio practice, the primary aim of which is to deepen, extend and even dilute the production time.

The painter also explores climatic time by investigating the minute variations in the external environment. After noting various indications - lines, colours, light, temperature - she (re)constructs the painting in the studio, placing on the canvas what time does to her, in terms of form, memory, affects and feelings...

Working on a number of paintings in parallel, Caroline Bachmann multiplies and connects temporalities and subjects.
