Bateau Genève
The Association pour le Bateau Genève is a private association of a social nature, recognised as being of public utility. Its aim is to welcome adults in precarious situations or experiencing personal and social difficulties. Le Bateau Genève operates on board Le Genève, the former flagship of the Léman fleet moored at the Eaux-Vives merchant quay, bought by the association 30 years ago when it was slated for demolition. Le Bateau Genève is a place of welcome, support, and socio-professional integration for people in precarious situations. Every weekday morning, between 150 and 200 free breakfasts are served to people in need. Le Bateau also offers work experience placements through its stewardship, renovation, and refreshment services. The Buvette is open to the public from May to the end of September. It is also possible to privatize part or all of the Bateau throughout the year for special events.
Le Bateau Genève hosts the Tchan-Zâka collective's participatory work La Conversation du Cormoran and the Biennial's opening ceremony.
La Conversation du Cormoran's exhibition is open from Wednesday to Saturday, between 5 PM and 8 PM, from September 13 to 30.
