Julian Charrière was born in Morges in 1987 and lives and works in Berlin. Mobilising a wide range of artistic approaches, including photography, performance, sculpture and video, he explores the idea of 'nature' and its transformation over deep geological time, as well as through human history. Dealing with pressing ecological issues, his work is most often the result of field investigations in isolated locations with pronounced geophysical identities, such as volcanoes, glaciers, and underwater or radioactive sites. In a multidisciplinary approach, Julian Charrière frequently collaborates with composers, scientists, engineers, art historians and philosophers.
